Okay, it’s not quite a hull, but you’re part of an exclusive group with behind the scenes access to the product development process of the next new Bertram model. The design will be unveiled at the Ft. Lauderdale International Boat Show during our Bertram Reunion Party on the evening of November 6th. We’d love to see you there.
In the meantime, to ensure we achieve a superior level of fit and finish, while adhering precisely to the engineering specifications from Michael Peters Yacht Design, we’re making the investment in the best tooling possible. In fact, outside of the Bertram team, you’re the first to see the hull of our prototype emerging from the mold, which was created by Marine Concepts in Cape Coral, Florida. I hope you’re excited as we are.
The female mold, seen here, was created from the male plug pictured in gray, on which the female mold is formed. Additional tooling for the cockpit, deckhouse and small parts are underway. We’re confident we’ll have one of the best looking, best riding boats in her class. Once complete, the components will be trucked to Lyman-Morse Boatbuilding in Thomaston, Maine where we’re gearing up for a very busy winter as we begin the construction of hull No. 1. We have partnered with Lyman-Morse to build our first two prototypes. As anxious as we are to reintroduce our new products to the market, we’re equally focused on locating and organizing our own production to meet the highest of standards. Lyman-Morse’s excellent reputation and long history of boatbuilding, along with their willingness to prototype in full partnership with Bertram production personnel, gives us the opportunity to introduce our first product with confidence.
If you haven’t done so already, please drop us a line at marketing@bertram. com if you would like to be added to the invitation list for the Bertram Reunion on the evening of Friday November 6th at our stand of the Ft. Lauderdale International Boat Show. We look forward to seeing you on the docks.
Sincerely,
Capt. Tommy Thompson
