As many Bertram enthusiasts know, we built more than 1,800 31s over a 25-year period. Maybe it’s new technology and building techniques, but it only took us three weeks to build 2,136 of the new Bertram 35! Well, okay, I’m referring to the virtual 35 created on our Build Your Bertram page at www.bertram.com. Keep those wonderful creations coming. We see every one of them. After the model reveal at the Ft. Lauderdale International Boat Show last month, the level of interest has been off the charts. Thanks to folks like you, we were reminded just how much passion surrounds the Bertram brand. And believe me, we take this responsibility very seriously.
During the show, we also rolled out a new Bertram Heritage video. Click here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CrijC2t_Yo4 to follow the evolution of the 35 Bertram. (Please don’t judge me, apparently, I talk with my hands!) I promise after you finish viewing our latest video that describes the genesis of the new Bertram 35, you will be as excited as we are about our future.
We couldn’t be more excited to announce 35 No. 1 is underway at Lyman-Morse in Thomaston, Maine. That one of course belongs to Bertram owner Beniamino Gavio (he previously owned a 54), but No. 2 through No. 4 are already spoken for as well.
We greatly appreciate the confidence those clients have shown in us and will do everything to exceed their expectations. We’ll keep you posted through the build and prototyping process. That prototype process is a key step in ensuring a high-quality build once we move into full production. And Bertram’s General Manager, Susan Davids, is hard at work securing a permanent production facility for Bertram Yacht. I assure you, we’re not stopping at the 35. Therefore, we need a facility which can accommodate proper production lines. It’s going to be a heck of a ride.
Sincerely,
Capt. Tommy Thompson
